ConfiguratonDesk provides a graphical interface for configuration of the hardware in the SCALEXIO system.
A Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) application always contains at least two different parts: one behavior model and one I/O model. By separating these models it is possible to generate code for only the parts that have changed, and thereby speeding up the buildning process.
This separation of the behavior- and I/O model in two different tools creates a new and more effective processes for the HIL-group. The model developers can work in parallel from their respective PC and the behavior model is not restricted to Simulink®. All modeling tools which can generate a FMU 2.0 (FMI 2.0 for co-simulation) can be used as a behavior model for simulation on a SCALEXIO HIL. Code from respective model is imported and combined in ConfigurationDesk, and the complete code is finally downloaded to the processor on the hardware.
It is also possible to integrate a virtual ECU (V-ECU) which is useful if the actual ECU isn’t available. Another use case is to include a precompiled function from a subcontractor who doesn’t want to provide their function as C-code or a simulation model. ConfigurationDesk gives them an easy way of protecting their IP.
It is possible to define and document external units, such as ECU:s and loads, and include their properties. Example of these properties are electrical properties, configuration of fault injection, configurations of loads and common descriptions. ConfigurationDesk shows the user-defined layout of the signals from the I/O on the ECU/load all the way to the behavior model. It is also possible to generate a file with data on cables and external units to use when buildning the cable harness.
ConfigurationDesk also has a Configuration Version which is used to configurate and diagnose the RapidPro hardware.
